What We Have In Place For Load Shedding/Power Cuts In SA:

The villa is equipped with a full backup power system, ensuring all wall sockets, Wi-Fi, alarm, lights, geysers, appliances, and the lift remain powered during loadshedding. Additionally, the stove and BBQ are gas-operated, so you can continue to enjoy your stay comfortably despite any power cuts imposed by Eskom.

The entire house is accessible through a single main entrance.

House Manager

The house manager will meet you at check-in and be available for any needs or requirements during your stay.

Housekeeper

The property has a lovely and experienced housekeeper Caroline. She knows the house very well and will be present at the villa from 9 AM till 4 PM, Monday till Friday, and Saturday 9 AM till 12 PM.

House Steward

Our hands-on house steward Matthews will ensure that everything is in working order. He cleans the pool, maintains the garden, helps with luggage/shopping and is of general help to guests. Available six days a week.

Please note there is a R1000 late check-in fee for check-ins after 8pm, payable to the property manager.

Camps Bay has it all, including stunning beaches, nice walks to Clifton, trendy restaurants, great shopping, and a small beachfront market. It's a lovely, safe neighbourhood and just a 15-minute drive to the city centre.

The villa and attached apartment is only a few minutes walk to the beach, public transport and taxis. The easiest way to travel in the evening is with Uber, it's a very safe, well-organised and cost-effective way to get around.

Refundable Breakage Deposit

We will also require a refundable breakage deposit of R20,000 to be paid prior to check-in/upon check-in. This will be refunded on the day of check-out if no damages are found. If damages are found, the relevant charges will be applied.

Plug Sockets/Adapters

There are international plugs plus additional adapters in the TV lounge cupboard (next to kitchen).

Electricity

The electrical fuse box is inside the kitchen cupboard containing glasses.

Safes

There is a safe in each bedroom with operating instructions by the unit.

Hairdryers

Hairdryers are in the cupboard of each bedroom.

Chef

A private chef can be arranged with prior notice for an additional cost

Babysitting

Babysitting can be arranged by prior notice.

Heating

There is an underfloor heating dial in the master bedroom which also heats the bathroom floor. All air conditioning units are also equipped with a heating option. Please do not leave doors and windows open when using the AC unit.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is heated and is used at your own risk, towels are available in the pool lounge. Children under the age of 12 years old must be supervised at all times.

Housekeeping And House Steward

Housekeeper (Caroline) and House Steward (Matthews) are at the villa from Monday to Friday 09h00 – 16h00 and Saturday morning 09h00 – 12h00.

Laundry And Dry Cleaning

• There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room. We offer one complimentary load of laundry on the second day of your stay. Please liaise with Christine as Villa Sands can take no responsibility for damage to clothes laundered by us. Linen and towels are changed every third day.
• For any additional washing and ironing undertaken by Christine (after the second day of your stay), an additional cost of R100/load will apply – this is to be paid to Lavinia.

For dry cleaning: kindly note there is no dry cleaning facility in Camps Bay. Please contact Quick Wash Laundry Services at Maitland, Cape Town.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors and on balconies. Failure to comply may result in charges being incurred by the tenant to remove smoke odour from the property. If you wish to smoke in the garden, there are ashtrays in the utility room (please ask housekeeper, Caroline).

Animals

Animals are not permitted anywhere on the premises at any time.

Water

South African tap water meets the world health standard and is safe to drink.

Banking

Banks and foreign exchange desks can be found in the Waterfront, Sea Point and city centre. National banking hours are: Monday to Friday: 09.00 – 15.30, Saturday: 08.00 – 11.00. There is a cash point machine next to the Pick 'n' Pay a few minutes from the house on the Camps Bay Promenade.

Beaches

Camps Bay Beach: turn left out of the house and walk straight down Geneva Drive. Clifton Beaches: turn right at the end of Geneva Drive onto Victoria Road, continue straight along the front, the four adjacent Clifton beaches are reached after 1km.
