Hout Bay is a beautiful seaside neighbourhood in Cape Town that offers something for everyone. Hout Bay is surrounded by the back part of Table Mountain to the North and the back side of the Twelve Apostles to the North-West, Little Lions Head to the West, Constantia to the East, with the Southern Atlantic Ocean to the South. Hout Bay has become very popular as a seaside resort town with its unique location at the start of the Atlantic Seaboard and yet still only thirty minute’s drive from most of Cape Town’s top attractions.

Hout Bay’s beach is a lovely white sand beach, a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike. The Hout Bay harbour is the 9th most visited tourist attraction in Cape Town and includes a yacht and boat marina, a working fishing fleet (and factories), a craft market, Mariners Wharf and a couple of fish and chip outlets.

There are three main roads leading in and out of Hout Bay, all over mountain passes. The first goes to Llandudno and Camps Bay through the pass known as Suikerbossie (known as one of the most scenic drives in the world). The world famous Chapman’s Peak Drive is carved out of the mountainside and leads towards Noordhoek and onwards to Cape Point. Lastly a road leads to Constantia over the Constantia Nek pass between the back slopes of Table Mountain.
