Clifton is an exclusive residential area and is home to the most expensive real estate in South Africa with Villas nestled on the cliffs with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. Clifton is neighboured by the suburbs of Camps Bay to the south and Bantry Bay to the north.

Clifton has a set of four beaches, aptly named First, Second, Third and Fourth Beach, that are separated by giant granite boulders and have almost pure white granitic sand. These four beauties are one of the few areas in Cape Town well protected from the notorious south-easterly wind. This is probably why it is so popular with bathers! Moses Beach, situated just before First Beach, appears and disappears seasonally with the sand being washed away by the tides.
