Space

Designed to maximise comfort while maintaining an element of sophistication, this ultra-luxurious six-bedroom villa is tucked away on a quiet road in Upper Camps Bay, just moments away from the bustling beachfront. Free-flowing spaces, beautiful décor with a distinctly African feel, and two wooden wraparound decks with 180-degree panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean make this villa a one-of-a-kind gem.

The villa is spread over three levels, all of which have wooden decks looking out over the ocean. The first level can be reached from the double garage by a lift that opens onto a wooden sun-deck with loungers. This level of the abode has a private gym with state-of-the-art equipment, including a cross-trainer, a reclining bike, a treadmill, mats, and weights. There is also a small spa with a sauna, massage bed, shower, and toilet next to the gym (a spa therapist can be organised on request at an extra cost).

Opposite the fitness room on the same level is a self-contained studio flat that is ideal for guests looking for extra privacy. The studio has a separate entrance and features open-plan living and dining spaces, a fully-equipped kitchenette with a dishwasher, and a bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom. The lounge opens onto a quiet balcony with a table and chairs and lovely sea views.

The first floor of the villa features beautifully appointed and elegantly furnished living and dining areas with plush décor in natural hues. It has a rustic twelve-seater dining table and chairs, and a large, open-plan kitchen with a central cooking island and top-of-the-range appliances. The kitchen is an entertainer’s dream, featuring a conventional and steam oven, a boiling-water tap, a wine fridge, and a double-door fridge with a filtered still and sparkling-water dispenser. A separate scullery-cum-pantry just off the kitchen has an extra fridge.

The living and dining areas open onto a large wraparound wooden deck with swimming pool, hot tub, sun loungers, hammocks, and an outdoor lounge with an indoor-outdoor fireplace. The deck boasts spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and Lion’s Head, making it the perfect spot for late-afternoon sundowners.

The second level of the villa is home to the master bedroom and four guest bedrooms, all of which are en-suite and have lovely ocean or mountain views. The luxurious master bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a large oval bathtub in creamy stone and a deluxe rain shower. It opens onto a wraparound wooden deck that offers breathtaking views of the ocean. The other four guest bedrooms have king-size or twin beds, en-suite bathrooms with rain showers, and access to either the deck, cosy courtyards, or pretty gardens. All the bedrooms have built-in cupboards and beautiful ocean or mountain views.

This floor of the villa also has a small communal lounge area-cum-study with comfortable furnishings that opens onto the second-floor deck and a laundry room. There is also a protected barbecue area with a large gas-and-wood barbecue, a twelve-seater outdoor dining table, and an outdoor kitchen with a sink and fridge for hassle-free outdoor entertaining. A huge stock of wood can be found next to the entertainment area, as well as an outdoor courtyard for the laundry room.

Transit

Myciti is Cape Town’s modern, scheduled bus service and an easy way to get around the city. Current routes link the airport and central Cape Town with Camps Bay and Clifton; you simply need a Myconnect card preloaded with money, which you can do at any Myciti station or select retailer. Alternatively, one of the easiest ways to get around is by Uber. Simply download the app on your smartphone, register, and start using it straight away. The best part is that you register with your credit card details, so you do not always need to carry cash to catch a ride.

Electricity:

South Africa has been experiencing periods of load-shedding (unscheduled electricity disruptions). This means that electricity goes off for periods of two and a half hours or more at a time. We often do not know in advance when this will happen. Most of our owners, however, have taken a number of measures to ensure your comfort during your stay. There is an app you can download to ensure you know what times it will take place and plan your day accordingly. Please search your app store for Esp – The Load-Shedding App. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. This is, unfortunately, out of our hands and governed by the South African electricity providers. Accordingly, neither Cape Town Luxury Escapes nor the owner shall be liable for any refunds, compensation, or discounts as a result of services being unavailable due to load-shedding.

Noise Control:

This flat is situated in a quiet residential area and we must adhere to strict noise control measures implemented by the body corporate and city council. We therefore need you to understand and accept the following conditions:

• No parties of any kind are to be held at the flat.
• No noise or music of any nature (audible to neighbours) is allowed between 9 pm and 7 am during the week, and between 10 pm and 7 am at weekends.
• No hooting or shouting is permitted in the street at any time.
• Should you have guests visiting, please ensure they are aware that parking is very limited and that they must not park in front of another person's garage or driveway.

Travel Insurance:

It is imperative that you have procured adequate and fully comprehensive travel insurance, including cancellation cover and cover for the theft of personal items.

Groups:

No groups of solo travellers are permitted unless by prior request. No bachelor or bachelorette party groups are allowed.

Children:

Although we accept children at this property, there may still be child-safety issues, such as balconies, split-level terraces, and unfenced pools. Guests staying with children do so at their own risk and are urged to take all due care and attention during their stay.

Monthly Stays:

Please note that for monthly discounts, electricity will be for your own account.

• No daily housekeeping is included within the rate, but it can be arranged at an additional cost when available.
• Standard amenities, such as Wi-fi and Dstv (if applicable), will be included.
• Reasonable water usage is included and will be monitored according to current city limits.
• Garden and pool services will be included when permitted.
